We are a family-owned business and have been established since 1943. Our reputation speaks for itself and has helped our company grow organically over the years. 

We are located in Bridgeport, Ohio and specialize in residential and commercial jobs which include all types of excavating. Some of the services we offer are complete septic installation and service, utility installation, earth moving, property foundations, and hauling and placing of dirt and aggregates. Our History

In 1943, J. Mansell Theaker, of Farmington, Ohio purchased a bulldozer. The steady work generated from this launched a family business, Mansell Theaker and Son Excavating. The business provided general excavating services around the Bridgeport area. His Son, Richard M. Theaker, joined him in 1964, and the business became incorporated in 1978.

From a single bulldozer, more machinery was added to handle the growing demand of jobs. Mansell Theaker & Son, Inc. is still a family-owned and operated business. Our menu of residential and commercial services includes foundations, septic system installation & service, utilities, complete groundwork for new developments, trucking and trenching. Our serviced area range has expanded to Eastern Ohio and the panhandle of West Virginia. We enjoy what we do and are committed to quality work at a competitive rate.   • How many years have you been in the business?

    We have been in the excavating business for over 65 years. Theaker Excavating was established in 1943.

  • What type of work do you do?

    Our main business consists of residential and commercial services includes foundations, septic system installation & service, utilities, complete groundwork for new developments, trucking and trenching.

  • How far do you travel to do work?

    Our primary range of work is within a 30 mile radius of Ohio, depending on the job and location, we will travel further. We do a large amount of work in West Virginia as well.

  • Do you haul stone, slag, sand, topsoil, fill dirt, etc.?

    Yes, we carry all types of aggregate, limestone, screened topsoil and dirt.  Several trucks and drivers are on the road every day hauling material. In most cases we can deliver customer orders within 1-2 days.

  • Do you service septic tanks?

    We are a full-service septic system provider.  We can install, pump and service septic tanks. We also carry most brands of aeration motors.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    We accept payments with Mastercard, Visa, cash and checks.

  • Where are you located?

    We are located 5.3 miles out State Route 250 West of Bridgeport, Ohio. Make a left turn off of State Route 250 on County Road 14 (Farmington Road). Go ¾ mile on County Road 14. We are located on the left hand side of the road (53620 Farmington Road).
